THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER is associated with prayer for the Holy Souls. Masses will be offered throughout the year for those whose names are on the November Dead List. Envelopes are available for this purpose at the back of the church. Place a printed list with the names of your deceased relatives and friends, in the envelope together with your offering. Once the list has been closed at the end of October, the offerings are made into £10-00 Mass intentions and celebrated throughout the year. The Envelopes can be handed to the parish priest or one of the stewards. Last year 103 Masses were offered for the deceased relatives and friends of the parish. Return the envelope before Sunday 26 October thank you.

NOVEMBER CEMETERY SERVICES I invite you to join me at both services. Sowerby Bridge Cemetery Saturday 1 November at 3pm – our annual observance when we pray the rosary and process through the cemetery visiting the graves of family friends and parishioners. We remember all those buried in this cemetery – Requiescant in Pace. Stoney Royd Cemetery Halifax Sunday 2 November at 3pm – Since the beginning of Christianity it has been a practice to honour the dead by visitations to the place of burial. We return to remember all those buried in this cemetery – Requiescant in Pace.

SACRED HEART SCHOOL PLACES AND OPEN DAY Are you or family and friends looking for a warm, welcoming school with a high-quality Catholic education for your child? At our recent faith inspection in May 2025 inspectors said “Pupils at Sacred Heart understand the distinctive nature and Catholic identity of the school. They feel safe, cared for, happy and all feel that they have someone that they can talk to.”

Come and see our wonderful school for yourself on Monday 10 November with tours being held at 10am, 2pm, 5pm. If you cannot make this date, please do contact us in school and we would be happy to show you around at a time that better suits you. There are flyers in the back of church with more information, and we look forward to meeting you! If you need any help with applications for reception places for September 2026 or if you are looking to transfer into another year group, we are very happy to help!
